None of you understand. I'm not locked up in here with you. You're locked up in here with me.
In regard to the blue male genitalia, its just a person its the human body so I don't really care much. If he is as intelligent as he is made to be in the movie he wouldn't wear clothes when on another planet. But I am European so I have no real issue with that sorta stuff.
On a different note the music in the movie was amazing

Re: Watchmen-Anybody see it yet?
LOVED IT! Never read the comic.
Incredibly thought provoking, dark, a lot of anti-hero vs. human nature vs. topics of war.
I really enjoyed it, and I think the plot was vague at first if you've never read the comic (like me), but was quickly revealed when we learned what the first opening scene was about.
Then from there it's a mystery to be solved, and we follow these outcasts and learn about their stuggle with pride, integrity, and their own gritty human nature.
Again, I really enjoyed it, I made the mistake of ordering a large pop, and I had to pee so badly, but there wasnt a moment where something awesome wasn't taking place and I could leave the theater without missing much.
Again, loved the watchman. I went in totally new to the entire comic series, I didnt know a darn thing except there was a blue guy, and it was based on a comic.
5 stars!! :gj:

The movie was fantastic, and followed the comic book pretty well, despite the giant squid ending...but very well done. and not ruined by the music! i was really happy with the outcome, especially Rorschach! man he was good!
and it will make a TON more sense if you read the comic book!

Re: Watchmen-Anybody see it yet?
I saw this yesterday. I enjoyed the movie as a whole. There wasn't much wrong with it but I will list what I didn't like.
* I will never understand the need to throw in a random pron scene in the middle of movies like this. It serves no purpose. It does not add to the movie. If it were a Friday the 13th movie I'd understand because you expect that. The trailers to such mvie even hint at it. But this is a comic book based movie. The graphic novel isn't that graphic. I also like have at least something left for the imagination.
* Not all the main characters got a real backstory. Or at least a complete one. Dr. Manhattan was the only legitately superpowered hero and his origin was indepth. However, All the other heros displayed at the least superstrength. I would have liked to have known how they had gotten their strength.
* There were a few "useless" scenes. The Nite Owl/Silk Specter "Nude" nuclear dream being one.
Over all though, it was a well rounded thought provking movie and the nearly 3 hours passed really fast.

These were actually in the comic book. they weren't just random. but they were weird, i'll agree.

Hmm....I am going to have to get the graphic novel and see. I have read that DC made them diminish Dr. M's blue pen15 so it wouldn't stand out and offend anyone. So it seesm odd that they would work at making sure of that and then allow a comic pron scene. I am thinking it is there but doesn't show the goods like it does in the movie.

I guess I didnt see how it was random.
...
***********SPOILERS!***************************
Guy couldnt get it done and join with hot woman that he's obviously longed for, it was a little rushed for him.
They go out and kick some ass, something they hadn't done for a long time after being forced out by Nixon, it rekindles that dim light, that light that used to burn for justice and fighting evil. They were good at it, and they missed it.
In the afterglow of this renewed motivation, they come together to celebrate, to express the love they had for each other.
It was a little graphic, and probably didnt need to be as long, but I found myself more embarrassed for older folks in the theater who probably found it too graphic.
Why is it that people squirm during the creation of life, but dont flinch at its bloody painful destruction?
This movie isnt for the kiddies, it's rated R for a reason.
I felt that I should have to explain the sex scene, some people are a little dim to see the point. I'm not sorry if some people walked out during the movie, your just missing out on a really great story. Don't expect this to be all happy spiderman crybaby movie. It's the anti-"comic".

Perhaps random was the wrong word. In other movies like "300" it is random. Perhaps pointless better fits. It did nothing for the plot. It was just there for to draw in more people I guess.
Sex is something that you do in private. I don't care to ever see anyone else having sex other than my wife and I.
As for the violence...
I agree the violence was too graphic but I think I have been desensitized to it. Not that it should be an excuse. I suppose if most TV and movie had sex scenes like this I would be desensitized to those as well. Desensitized or not though, it doesn't make it right.

I guess thats where we differ. I could go into explaining why I dont believe it was unnecessary or just to draw people in, in this movie or 300, but that would be a waste of words I feel.
I will say, if we didnt see how serious those two were in love, wouldn't it make John's return and her going with him less stunning?
