Yes, that's a possibility, and one im willing to take, I strongly believe snakes show affection(in their own way), just as i strongly believe they see when you show them affection. Just like animals can sense fear.

I kiss all my snakes.
But Balls aren't exactly "nippy" lol
(haha I kiss my balls)

Re: White Lipped Python
I kiss all my snakes EXCEPT my white-lips. Mine aren't nippy, but they are nervous and I think they prefer not to have a big face coming at them.

Here's a picture of my female. She's '07. The picture makes her look a little lighter than she actually is.

D'Albertis'.. I love those. One of the most natural beauties.
Your lucky, you got a well behaved one.
I saw a baby pair up for sale in a reptile store years back. I wanted them so bad. But whack whack whack they were both nippy as hell. I think I had at least 6 bite marks (blood dots hehee babies) all together. They actually didn't stop biting me till I put them back down. I just wish they were more mellow. Even just a little bit. hehe
I will try my luck again with them.. some day.
Their colors are just too amazing to ignore.

Re: White Lipped Python
Yea, I was holding her for a minute this morning while I put a Bio Vine in the tank for her to climb on and such, and some other decor to make it seem as close to home as possible, and she was slithering around, and I was only working with one hand, next thing I know she was by my ear & chin area. I just said to myself: "wow I really don't feel like getting bit", and she didn't. She has yet to nip/strike at me or anything.
