Re: My Day 3.02.09
Oh Tim, I'm so sorry to hear that. I don't know what your line of work is, but PM me if you want me to look around Nellis for positions...it sucks, but with two wars on, the contractors on base have pretty good job security.
I wish I had better connections, but if I can do anything to help out, please just ask. :) Of course, I know you're going to be fine. I have faith the economy's going to pick back up. :gj:

I'm sorry to hear this, Tim! I hope you find a job that you will truly love - soon!

Re: My Day 3.02.09
Very sorry to hear this. But I always try to take a positive spin on most anything. They have laid off quite a few people where I am at, but most were in line to be terminated anyway (performance issues, etc.).
I think I would probably freak a bit, but I would looke at it as an opportunity for some changes in my life. I do think about everyday so that if/when it happens, I am sort of prepared.
Best of luck!

That really blows. We have downsized about 60 to 70% in the last 1.5 years. Luckily I am still employed, but with the economy the way it is right now who knows.

Sorry to hear about your job, Tim. Keep an eye out for any silver lining that might be hanging off that very dark cloud.

Thanks to everyone and after a nice pep talk from another snakey friend (you know who you are) I'm in a better mood and frame of mind. Maybe a get away in Cali is just what my mind needs.

Tim,
That really sucks, man. I think, though, that you'll get yourself out in the world again, showing everyone how awesome you are. I know we all have faith in you.
As far as what would I do if it happened to me? I'm currently on the verge of quitting my job. I work with a manager who's unfit to pick up trash on the side of the road. -Shrugs.- I'm going back to school soon anyways. Meh.

Re: My Day 3.02.09
Tim,
I was there 5 years ago and it sucked but I'm a lot stronger for having gone through it. Luckily I had the AF Reserves as a back up so I was completely unemployed. One thing I learned in my job hunt was to network like crazy and don't count out any possiblities. Sometimes your skills cross into fields you never even considered.
If you can take some time and do something for yourself go for it. Good luck!!
