I am curious though, how are they once you start handling them, are they really hyper or do they pretty much chill?

Quite skittish when I first got him, although he has yet to musk but all in all no more hyper than what you would expect a hatchling/juvenile Colubrid to be.

My Annie is pretty relaxed when I take her out, shes 6mo old. She will get comfortable then she will just chill and watch whatever is going on. My rufous on the other hand, he likes to constantly move around, though every now and then I can get him to just relax and watch whats going on if i keep him situated in one spot and keep petting him. Hopefully he calms down when he gets bigger though, I believe he is still a juvenile.

You do find with most snakes that, with a bit of maturity, they do calm way down. Although that rule doesn't seem to apply to my Albino Cali!

Yea, i've seen that in quite a bit of snakes. I was just curious because i'm looking to get me a king/milk, and i've never really had the pleasure to handle any juveniles, or actually for that matter any mature ones, besides the WC one I caught that somehow ended up in my house when I left the doors open due to no power from the Hurricane. He was fiesty too, bit me a few times. Then I let him loose by my pond, which is where i've seen him at prior to that.

How do Derek ;) I'm feeding him two fuzzies every seven days at the minute.
