Another Craigslist Ad

I wasn't really griping per say - I've just heard people so against housing Ball Pythons together, let alone a 5ft RTB and a 10ft Burmese. Was just curious as to whether or not anyone has seen it before, and if it was very successful. I don't know, I would think feeding time would get pretty hairy, especially if the Burmese has a strong feeding response. I'm far from a pro, so I figured I could get some more educated respsonses before I passed judgement :)


Anatess, that setup sounds intense, do you happen to have any pics of it?

Yeah a petshop here had a 6 foot burm and a baby ball in the same enclosure. I doubt it survived though probably got smashed. I bet it didnt need a hide though it could just slither in and out of the burms coils lol. Or maybe it was a retic. Can't remember it was several years ago when I first got into snakes.

well I am not a professional so let me get that out of the way. If not for the feeding I do believe the requirements for a burm and a red tail are slightly different. Im not sure how different. I guess the biggest thing is these animals would never come in contact with each other naturally. The red tail is from south american and the burm is from asia. I would think that at least humidity requirements could be at least slightly different. There was someone recently on cl in Detroit who was housing a red tail, a ball, a cornsnake, and a milk snake all in a 4 X 2 enclosure. If it works i guess it works but it does go against general husbandry practices. This is why we should have some standards of care established in our society on herp care. Just my 2 cents.

There are several snakey breeds here. Also note the pool on the far end.

There are no hides in there. Just substrate, the logs, and that pool. I didn't get a picture of the lamps hanging off the ceiling, sorry.

The snakes seem alright to me. They're very docile snakes - sometimes they take them out to show people. They put them in a gigantic plastic bin to feed.
