I've been down that road once...once....lol

Re: What do you look for in a BP rack?
Since I live in a cold climate area, I prefer closed rack systems like RBI and some of the animal plastics racks. I add a little extra insulation to the rack so that when the heat escapes, it does through the front. Seems to be create a good gradient.
Customer Service is also important. I have called RBI to ask questions and I also get an appropriate response.
In the future, I would look for racks that have tubs that are easily replaceable. Now that my rack is full, I have to put one of my snakes in a seperate container, when I clean out the tub. I wish I had a few extras so I could just take the snake out of the dirty tub and put it in a clean one.

Good idea about the extra tubs :gj:
Re: What do you look for in a BP rack?
Some of the things I take into account when I purchase a rack is:
The price of the rack on a per shelf basis, whether tubs are included, and sturdy fire resistant materials.
A really big selling point for me is if the same rack be used with different sized tubs. For example a sideways 32qt or 2 15qt tubs. For people with smaller collections like me the versatility is great.

What would you think of removable or adjustable shelves?
Re: What do you look for in a BP rack?
Well if you're adjusting racks shelves then you're only going to be able to increase the height of the tubs I can use. Which unless I want to keep an arboreal snake with my bps won't help me much. Plus I think you would run into some stablitlity issues with the rack if the shelves were adjustable and not fixed into place. I like knowing that one shelf could be used with two different sized tubs with no extra effort on my part aside from shoving the tub in there.
Re: What do you look for in a BP rack?
Well I look for one that uses the same tubs I already use......I hate buying other sizes that don't fit into the ones I already have. Esp since I have alot of extras in the case one is broke/chipped etc.
Re: What do you look for in a BP rack?
Well I live in the Arid desert and Humidity is always a problem for me, so i look for a rack thats good at maintaining humidity, Like reptiles Basics PVC racks.
Also its 130 Degrees here in the summer, and 15 degrees in the winter......so something that I can control temperatures well in them.....
After that, Price to quality comparisons, shipping costs, aesthetics......all are factors.

In a rack, I look for this:
