Hey......some of us have had great success with them. :gj:
Just chuck the wafer and the little alan wrench thingy for controlling the temps and get a t-stat.
I've heard to use a small fan(computer fan). Does this help or is it just an extra?

Re: Eggs with mother?
Depends on the type of incubator. With some you would want to circulate the air from top to bottom but with a small incubator, the fan would end up drying out the eggs.

Re: Eggs with mother?
I saw a hovabator at my Tractor Supply store but all the incubators I've seen had flexwatt on the bottm and this one had the heating element on the top? Does this make a difference and with a hovabator would I still use an egg tub or would I just put the vemiculite and the eggs right in it?

Re: Eggs with mother?
Either way. Covered egg box or not. Just watch the humidity and place the probe for the T-Stat down with the eggs.
I have a gravid female and it will be the only clutch I will have this year. I was wondering if anyone has ever just left the eggs in with the mother instead of putting them in an incubator? If so could you tell me some of the hazards of this? Thank you so much.
A friend of mine let his het albino female incubate her eggs last year.He lost every egg because it was hard to keep the temps and the humidity at the proper levels. He will use a incubator from now on ;)

Feeling handy enough to make your own incubator? Cheaper than most, reliable as you want to make it, and there if you need expansion later.....
