I have heard they sell accurites at the home depot, but I am not 100% sure as I haven't looked for them there. You can get the light dimmers for $10 at the Home depot.

Also, I would get some real hide boxes. You can use flower pot liners and cut a hole in the side and they work well. All of this stuff should be able to be bought at the home depot.

if your canadian "Canadian tire" is having a sale this week on IR temperature guns, as well as acurrite wireless probe thermostats/humidity guages. my little brother called me and let me know.

heat lamps suck so much humidity i remove my heat bulb complety and put in a 7w Florescent bulb in it. it lest off zero heat and still ites the enclosure for day/night cycle. i made my self a rheostat and am controlling the hot side UTH wt a constant 92-94*F and the cold side sits at room temperature which i have my house hold set to 80*F im using finer mulch aspen substrate and it hold the humidity great. im at a steady 65% and 70-75% in his humid-hide.

digital hydrometer/thermometers are a MUST have they are one of the only 2 ways that i would trust to accurately get a temp reading. i use a temperature gun and a digital hydrometer.

make a hide out of an old chip dip container and cut a hole in the top and stick some paper town in the bottom. BP's are not picky and he/she will love it much more then hollowed out aspen mounds :)

oh and one last thing, i got him on the 12th and i was going to feed it a pinky but the lady told me she has been feeding it small adult mice so i did that and seemed to go well he ate it with no problem but ever since i have yet noticed him to take a dump and havent seen any in the cage so is that normal or do i maybe have a constipated python on my hands. Please help, and also is it fine to feed him that mouse or should i go down a size. the mouse was as wide around as he is so i assume its fine. But the poop thing is what I'm worried about. Please help and thank you, very much appreciated!!!!!

ive had my PB for about 3 months now and he has not pooped yet its not uncommon and generally they will digest everything they can and only poop when they have an accumulation of matter that has no nutritional value to them and cannot be digested to urates or urine. my BP eats weekly. i wouldnt be to worried he will poop when he is ready. u wouldnt want some one poking u and saying cummon take a dump already :P he has probably urinated a few times and you have not notice the substrate would have absorbed it. some times you can see urates left behind which are white generally dry but can be a little bit sticky looking. i have read multiple places that you dont have to change your substrate for a few months at a time. i think thats rater disgusting because i change every 2 weeks and can noticeably smell and tell it is spoiled. i have found this site to be the best reliable source of herp info.

the size of the feeder you gave him is fine judging by the explanation you have given of its size.

haha yeah, i think id be leaving on a stretcher to deliver that one in a hospital if i had waited that long. but for a snake. not uncommon.

when he poops u will know it there will be a nasty looking and smelling rather large piece of duce in the cage. make sure to check your hides to they like ot go to the bathroom where they feel safe as they are vulnerable in the proses of a regurg.
