Coming outta lurking for a bit to reply to this one.

There was a news story last fall about 4 5th graders being caught having sex in a classroom. Seeing as kids in 5th grade are around 10-11 years old, so no matter how wrong/creepy it is that a 13 year old is a parent, I'm not too surprised =/

The other sad thing is, according to this article, this kid seems to be taking more responsibility over the baby than many adults do. I'm not sure if that's more messed up than him becoming a father.

My sister in law works in a children's hospital and had to teach a 13 year old to breastfeed her baby with her 12 year old boyfriend watching. Considering I had only just helped her with breastfeeding it was a creepy and strange experience with her. Especially since the dad turned bright red and was embarassed when SIL mentioned the word breast. She snapped something to him along the lines of, "You liked them well enough when you got her pregnant so don't turn away. Your child needs to eat"

It's not uncommon. At age 5 myself and a whole group of kids where I lived were sexually active. Not just show me yours and I'll show you mine, I mean the works.

So yeah, kids having sex has been going on for ages, the 13 year old's gilfriend is 15, which was considered OLD at one point in time for a girl to be giving birth for the first time. through most of human history the moment a girl started menstruating the was usually married and having babies.

I love how UK politicians are using this as a means of promo'ing their own agendas... break down of Britain, epidemic of teen pregnancy... :blahblah:

My gram was perfectly respectable, came from a good family, and was 15 on her wedding night on the Isle of Sin.

The mores may have been re(mis)represented, but it is the same story, just now it is shocking. Those kids should be in trade school learning how to be good toiling complaint free citizens and not having babies!!!

This is shocking but people routinely birthing Octo-puppies isn't (and no... I am not referring to the Brangaloonie that just had hers)?
