LIKE HIM OR NOT HANDS DOWN THE BEST QUARTERBACK TO EVER PLAY THE GAME. EVER.

I myself... not a huge Pack fan, definitely not a fan of any New York teams.

However I give credit where credit is due and that man has earned every bit of my respect. 269 consecutive starts is something to brag about all in itself considering I know he's been injured at times and he played through it. I myself can respect a man that puts in that kind of work on the field. Considering some of the stuff some of these guys sit out for makes them look like big sissies.

Back to retirement ; I think Favre is done for good this time. But all the greats of the sports always have a hard time just leaving the game because it's all they know.

In conclusion let's say Brett Favre.. you gave it one hell of a run and whether you won a superbowl in your last year or didn't win a single game IMHO and the numbers agree, that Brett Favre is the best to ever throw the pigskin.

i think he should have retired when he did the first time- he had a good run, but it's time to move on. but it is spelled -favre, just to clear that up...

i know how its spelled.... as a qb he is way over rated they talk about the guy like he is playing every spot on the field and going 16-0 with a superbowl ring to top off every season. you can be sitting back watching the pats and colts play and you'll hear favre's name called more than brady or manning, and if its madden calling the game its the only name youll hear.

i forget what game i was watchin last yr near the end of the season and they kept showing highlights of farve from 5 yrs ago and beyond, they had nothing to do with the game other than he was throwing a football.

all the sports do things like this and i hate it they pick one player and act like they are god, last yr during the stanley cup finals all you heard was sid the kid and he did nothing all series but get knocked around.

Id take Elway over favre any time or place!!!!!!!

HE needs to go away. He retired then came back to the Jets and I was not impressed at all with the way he was playing I mean it was ok but nothing special.

The man is a tough guy...but thats about it. Find a QB that played as long as he did and threw the ball as much as he did and I'll find you one that probably turned the ball over many many many fewer times than he has. He has always had the mentality that he just doesn't give a crap if he loses the ball for his team.

Cal Ripkin Jr. is the true champ when it comes to consecutive games.. played 2632 consecutive games in the MLB!!

Must disagree.

Baseball is a more time consumed sport. They play anywhere from 3-7+ games a week. If you get hurt, it's not "let's see if he'll be fine for next weeks game" but "let's see how he is tomorrow".

Also on the positions, you should think about catchers. It puts major pressure on your knees squatting 3+ hours a day.
