Before she was on newspaper, which she was constantly tearing up. Sand is a no-no, and there's really nothing else out there that won't cause impaction (at least anything that I can think of). Personally, I think tiles are the way to go. She licks EVERYTHING! Now I don't have to worry about her consuming something that she shouldn't. Plus poop is sooooo much easier to clean up.
