Re: what do you think about carpet pythons
My jag is most laid back of any of my carpets, my JCP was nasty when he was little, my IJ was horrible when she was little, my jag looks at you like shes going to bite but never does, shes very wired/energetic but not a biter.

I got my first 2 weeks ago. Little male jcp. He is awsome, I love him to bits, so damn cute. He does the eye thing, gets right in your face. BUt he is very good. Never bitten me. He struck once when my hand startled him but he didnt put any pressure into the bite, no pin pricks at all. Hasnt shown any sort of aggression at all. I can even reach in his cage and grab him from sleeping and he has no problem. I want him used to my hand in his place so he doesnt get cage aggressive. He is in shed and still is a sweetie.
Re: what do you think about carpet pythons
I have a pair of jag sibs, (just sold the other female) and the male has always been great.
the females started out very cage defensive and aggressive. Now my female is much better; I'm not freaked out holding her and she doesnt look like she's going to eat everything in site.
The females were and are pigs; eat anything and everything.
I'm considering trying out a spider BP male with my female.... not sure yet if I want to go there.
Re: what do you think about carpet pythons
I have a pair of young jcps.
I've been struck at and bitten so many times that I think they're just really like that as hatchlings. Still hoping they'll settle down. They pretty much strike at anything that moves. Surprisingly easy to feed.
They're definitely not as calm as ball pythons, but I think they're a good next step to any snake keeper.
