No real conflict of intrest for me.
I hear ya Slim... I get hassled by my family for working 3 jobs... job 1 pays the rent, buys food, and jobs 2 and 3 pay for the snakes. :)
Just gotta prioritize.
Re: Conflicting Interests?
My two expensive hobbies are Ball Pythons and tarantulas. When I don't have money for a ball I buy a T :D
Re: Conflicting Interests?
My other expensive hobby is replica sword collecting-and I only go for carbon-steel, which makes it even more expensive! At least I don't collect functional swords, as they are usually more than $100.
Snake keeping isn't actually that expensive for me; I haven't paid more than $150 overall since I got Charon.

I don't think I will every really buy art since I am an artist myself. Although I really would like to start collecting architecture books in the near future (as it is related to my major).
I do not have a lot of pics of specific pieces, but I have a few home pics from our old place it gives you an idea of what we like.
But most of our stuff falls into art categories. Our couch is handmade from an old bureau, we have sculptures, handmade lighting, etc. As wall as wall art.

I like dark subject matter for art mostly.

Re: Conflicting Interests?
Good question...I kind of take turns dropping money on hobbies.
Pets, computers/gaming and dragon/fantasy collectibles are what I put the most money into. Depending on the month, depends on where I spend the most money.
Re: Conflicting Interests?
Wow Bruce, your apartment is AWESOME! Besides reptiles, I thrououghly enjoy road racing/my car. I haven't been modifying it or going to the track lately, as it's my daily driver and I'm too old to be driving a track car on the street. Going to work on restoration, then buying a second MR2 for track purposes. Same with reptiles...time to hold off until I have a bigger place.
When I was doing the car thing, that took most of my money, then reptiles, then cars, now I'm holding off on both!
