Here is the burgundy pic, she has been sold so her add is gone along with the original link.

The female with the tick on her tail was a over site on my part, as when they came in we soaked them and took pics as they were being set up. We had 96 people waiting for pics of the gravids as it was so we were just taking some quick pics that night, as my sons b-day party was the next day. We set up over 100 gravids and by the time we got the pics I was going on 36 hours strait between getting the gravids and setting them all up, so I missed that big tick.

As I was watering them I saw the tick and killed it, I didn't realize it was in the pic until someone else had spotted it. Once it was spotted I knew we would get more sh** from that person/forum if we changed the pic rather than leave it on the site.

Ticks are part of dealing with a w.c animal, I look the females over when we give them water and pull any ticks that we can see, but they will be there until she lays her eggs.

There is no excuse for missing that big one, I was over tired from fighting with delta about them loosing our shipment once again, and took the pic before I noticed the tick....

    Thanks..

That burgundy colored snake was gorgeous! I like the flame on her side, it has an interesting color to it.

If I had a similar situation with posting a pic with a tick in it, then finding it after the fact, I might have posted an additional picture showing the tick had been removed. That would at least show you had resolved the problem, and avoid the noise people would make about you changing the pic. No way to avoid the complaints about the tick being there in the first place once you've posted the pic obviously.

Of course the best thing would have been if the snakes had arrived at a time when you had time to take care of each one properly without worrying about who is waiting for you to get pics up, or needing to dash off to a birthday party, but life isn't always perfect.

Quarintine... any new animal should be so its no different with a gravid.

So you quarantine the WC gravids you sell?

I understand quarantine to be 90 days (stickied on this site). Wouldn't a snake that's big enough to be judged gravid lay before QT is up?
