I've had my king for a year and while he is gaining length (hes 2 feet) he doesn't seem to be getting any fatter. I have been trying to bump his meal size up but he won't take it, he'll only eat tiny fuzzies but he'll eat two or three at a time. The hoppers I have are the same width as him but he won't take one.

Missi, when kings are growing they go through a "lanky" stage, where they seem to grow in length but not put on any weight. Once he hits 30-40" in length, his growth in length will start to significantly slow. He should then begin packing on the pounds. As hatchlings, their goal is to eat as much and as often as possible so as to move up the food chain quickly. As long as he eating, keep feeding him what he likes. One thing you can try is a live small hopper. This can sometimes entice them into feeding on larger items. Good luck.
