they had this for really cheap the other day at PETCO and was wondering if this would be ok? It was like $10 for a massive bag so that would be nice.

I buy almost all of our pet stuff from feed/farm supply stores. Our aspen is more like aspen chips or mulch than the finely shredded stuff in the petstores, but I like it better. It is about 10 bucks for a 128qt(I think) bag. I know a lot people, and big breeders, like cypress mulch because it holds humidity so well.

After an issue with mites and some messy poops, I've switched to this. (I can see this showing up in the out of context thread...)

Self adhesive tiles ($1 per 3 tiles at Dollar Store) attached to foam board (a few bucks at wall mart). Cut to fit the back, sides, and bottom. Run digital probes wires under board and up under the hides. This has really helped maintain temps and humidity. Note the mesh top partially covered with foam board as well. When shedding time starts, I get over 80% humidity easily be just adding a loose peice of foam board over most of the open screen section and keeping that little wire container of aspen or moss damp.

I'm new to BPs, but like this over the apsen I was using. Wiping up the poop was quick and easy.
