Man melting snow with blowtorch ignites home

Reminds me of the guy who used a blow torch to break into a gas pump.
Not the brightest christmas bulb on the tree, thats for sure

Honestly doesn't sound like he was being blatantly stupid, just a stupid accident. People read blowtorch and are probably thinking of a little butane torch. That isn't what he was using, he was using this: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=91033

I own one and have used to melt ice, just as it's intended stated purpose.

I guess the new technology isn't always all that great. What happened to just using salt?
I wouldn't feel too bad if other people's apartments didn't get burnt down in the accident.

Sidewalk, line of concrete, no wood, no combustible structures. Porch, can be made of many materials, but more than likely concrete, likely with a wood plastic or metal railing, and a large structure attached to it.

for what its worth ive used those products in the process of work.
they work great for melting ice and snow even on wood but im assuming that something rubber or perhaps the siding of the house caught fire.

The Head line should read "Man being stupid learns lesson and becomes homeless for Christmas"
