Are you more interested in something that's aesthetically pleasing or in something that will be cheap, easy to clean, and easy to replace, more comfortable for the snake as a whole(imho) or...?

honestly one of my favorite parts of this hobby is setting up enclosures, personally i dont mind the maintenance, and it helps keep me busy... i dont like being idle, i really like going with a natural themed setup, and even though its a bit pricier i like the tanks as show pieces in my room... call me silly if you want :rolleye2:, but compared to saltwater this hobby is cheap :D

Alright, well, they need, at minimum, two identical hides(one on the hot side[90-94F] and one on the cold side[~80-86F]), a water bowl(duh), and some sort of substrate that will help keep humidity in. Humidity should range approximately 50-70%.

If you want an inexpensive setup, some plastic tubs from Lowes, a cheap water bowl, a Sterilite tub, an uth, a thermostat and a snake.

Now if you're going for aesthetics, that gets a bit more pricey. I'm pretty sure aspen is the bedding of choice around these parts. You can get really nice rock hides from http://www.reptilesupply.com/index.php?cPath=31_35 or from www.lllreptile.com or http://www.bigappleherp.com

You can also get other accessories from most of these cites too.

Temps are the same requirements for this as well.

Most definitely. -Grins.- I get to pick up my temp guns after Christmas. Mwahaha. That, and I'll be saving up more money for another rack system. -Cackles.-

And if you ever decide you just want to do really inexpensive enclosures, plastic's the way to go. Most of the people here will vouch for that. ^_^

oh, well.... I have racks, but I really like my Reptile Basics 3x2x1 cages :D
It is so nice to see my snakes come out at night and slither around!! These cages are really well made and hold temp and humidity very well and (my) snakes all feel very secure in these cages :gj:
