In my humble opinion (from the measly standpoint of 2 bp's and several pet rodents), I believe the Sweet PDZ is just as cheap as the Equine Fresh.
They sell equine fresh at my local feed store as well. The difference is, equine fresh is used as a bedding whereas sweet pdz is just a sprinkle underneath your choice of beddings. In my 58 qt rubbermaid tub that houses my ASF trio, I only sprinkle about 1/2 cup with emphasis by the water spigot and beneath the wheel where they chose to urinate the most. I only have 3 ASF tubs and 2 hamster houses. So, my 16 bucks for a 25 lb bag will last me at least 2 years the rate I'm going (1.5 cups every 1-2 weeks for the ASF and 1/2 cup a week for both the hamster houses since they are tinier). I got a huge sack of compressed aspen bedding for cheap that I also use for my snakes and my parrot. So, if you have a discount bedding source, you might come out cheaper with the sweet pdz. I guess just see what works for you and what's available closeby. If you don't have a feed store near you, you can get sweet pdz online. I'm not sure if you can get equine fresh online.
