He is a little small for his size, it's not just the pics. I have to snag a bigger cage for the female, she is chillin in a 10 gallon cause that was the spare we had for Oakley and he moved up to a 40 gallon breeder that we got one hell of a deal on. The guy thought it was a 30 gallon and sold us the tank, stand, and some other stuff for $100. Then I measured it when I got home and figured out it was a 40 breeder because of it being so wide.

how big is the female?

just a hair bigger than the male. I really need to get a scale. lol.

a 10 gallon should be fine for a few months for both of them.i have a girl that is close to 300 grams in a 10 gallon and she is very happy still.

ps.a 40 breeder is far too big for those snakes.a 10 gallon tank for each snake will be fine.i have a 700+ male in a 20 long tank and he is chillin.you only want a 40 breeder for a female that is massive

just for an example this is the 700+ gram male in a 20 long.it is plenty enough space.they like a more crowded living space that isnt too big.

What adorable kids you've got. When I had my 40gallon breeder, I spruced it up...a lot. Just go to town decorating with hides, vines, etc or pick up a 10gallon.

I want to try out one of the long Exo-terra cages. I might buy one for Oakley and give my fiancee the 40 gallon for hers. I would love to decorate the 40 gallon up though. It has coconut bark, which I like the look of ALOT more than aspen. Might make it a nice little jungle for him.

The 40 is just fine. Just make sure the heat and humidity is good.
