It can, Id switch to paper towls. Reptile carpet is a pain to clean for me. A even better idea is tile.

Definately cant afford to do 30-50 a day, I have heard from several sources that 10 a day is more than enough which is about what I can do. Thank you so much for all of your advice, I will take any you have to offer! I just hope that I can get my little guy to be nice again or I am afraid my hubby won't let me keep him! Thanks again!

where do you buy crickets from? Try online, you can get 1000 for around $20 from Premiumcrickets.com. Other wise id find a home for him, because they need that many crickets. They have the nickname australian pig for a reason!:)

Oh btw here are some tips for once you get everything above corrected.
When picking him up, come slowly from the side because they are a "third eye" on top of their head that can sense you, and with a giant hand coming down on him he will think you are a prey. You can try to lure him to your hand with food also if he refuses to get picked up. After you have him suport his hard with your thumb softly to make sure that he does not jump off. This isnt a beardie but it is my savannah monitor and me holding him the way im talking about

After you correct everything, give him a week to settle in with minimum handling only when cleaning.

    Hope this helps!

10 small crickets is not even close to what a beardie needs. Whatever sources told you that are misinformed. And just like someone already suggested you should order your crickets in bulk online, its way cheaper than trying to buy 30 crickets a day from a pet store.
