You guys are all crazy, its a 44 Gal. long. 4' wide, 1' wide, 1' high. I have plans to keep humidity and temp, it should work just fine. I chose a big one because I like the look. I am not sure if I am going to go with a thermostat yet, it was just speculation, i might use a rheostat instead.

rheostats are junk. i used one for a coupe of weeks and had way to may temp swings. and sometimes they can stick on and just keep heating and won't turn off. if i were you. don't use a ceramic emitter they put off to much heat. use a ranco or helix and buy a 11 inch wide by 2 footlong piece of flexwatt. and mount that to the bottom of the tank. and for supplemental heat use a infrared heat emitter bulb. they work great. i use it for my quarintine tanks. but then once i know they are clean. the new snakes get moved into a rack. which is their permanent home. tanks work ok. but can be a pain to clean. racks with plastic tubs work great. a 44 gallon tank might be overkill though. good luck
