    aww what a cutie. thank you for saving him/her. I plan on getting some bat houses to put in my backyard in the spring. More bats, less bugs :D I'm all for that!!!

    Awesome! A few summers I had a whole chain of daytime bat encounters in a two-week period. Very odd. One time there was one on the sidewalk outside my work. It was sitting in a puddle of urine and I wasn't sure if it was alive. So I nudged it with my shoe to see if there was a reaction... He spread his wings and hissed at me then walked off... Very odd. I don't know what was wrong with him but definitely not normal bat behavior...

    I also have a 'pet' bat that comes around every now and again and swoops around on my front porch. I dunno how he gets in there but I can't say I mind. If/when I get a house I will most likely put up bat houses. Awesome (and helpful) little critters!
