Visionrack or ARS?

Your talking about a big $$$ investment. Be sure to check out RBI racks also.

I havn't had problems holding humidity yet with the homemade rack, though the ARS might have more airholes. Well even if I do get low humidity I bet the solution is much easier on a company rack than on my own.

I came back from the vet like 5 hours ago and the little het. albino is a champ. He's only 87 grams but he is healing rapidly. He flicks his tongue and moves around alot, alot of improvement from the night I found him and I couldn't be happier. I just hope he isn't so stressed out that he wont eat for me as I havn't had the new ones for one week yet and most of them havn't eaten for me yet.

The ARS are much more expensive and heavier duty racks, you wont be disapointed.

I have several Vision CB70 and they dont sag and if you want more humidity you just tape up some air holes no big deal.

The big advantage to the Vision is you can change each level for different tub sizes, One of my racks has 3 levels of hatchling tubs(12 tubs, 4 tubs per level), 1 level of sub adult tubs(2 tubs, tubs per level) and 8 levels of CB-70 tubs.

I can change them as my needs change. Most other racks you get one size and thats all. If you go with Vision ask them how to do multiple tub setups or PM me, its very easy.

I guess I will elaborate a little more to help you make a good decision.

Vision racks are decent racks but......
1. Come with clear tubs and the tubs sit exposed. This is not good for shy snakes. You can get gray tubs with built in cup holders (no spilled bowls) from ARS, which are heavy duty. The gray tubs make the back of the tub very dark but my snakes seem to prefer it that way.
2. The heat cable takes some adjustment to get the temps even on each level. Also, the heating system is kind of all or none. Meaning you can't turn off a particular level when not in use (wasted electricity).
3. You are limited on how high you can make the rack. With ARS the sky is the limit. Great if you got 10 foot ceilings. :D
4. Humidity is easier to control with ARS since the majority of the holes are punched in the front.
5. Vision racks seem to stick on certain levels regardless of how much or little you tighten the poles down.

With that said, something to remember is that ARS racks are really heavy. You wouldn't want to make a habit of moving these from room to room.

I really like the expanded polyethylene racks but when it comes to anything cb-70 size and over I think ARS is the best.

I totally hear your arguments, the only thing that stands in my way now is the money. It really is a big investment, on the other hand it's a major long term investment. Gees... When it comes to these things I really wish i lived in the states, us Europeans got like one rack manufacturer or something, and I don't like those racks.

However my friend went to a metalshop and gave them a picture with dimensions of a freedombreader and he said he could probably make an identical one. I'll wait and see how my friends rack turn out and if it's any good that's a very good possibility.

I would say ARS, but first check to see if they will even ship to you. As far as I know they dont have distributors, Biran ships direct.

As far as the tubs you can use ARS tubs in the Vision racks if you want a grey tub and/or the water dish built in. I currently use ARS CB70 tubs in my Reptile Basic racks.
