You can see why this was something worth asking others...the only thing I wasnt doing right was the temps.
I have also on at least 6 occassions put him in the tupperware cup he came in with a little water and a 3x3 inch piece of towel, and let him soak. He's not wild caught, this is my second snake I've gotten from this breeder, and I know its captive bred. Both snakes I've gotten feed rediculously well and have great personalities (ball python isn't head shy, gtp has never snapped at me), so I'm inclined to keep coming back to him.
So once again- in a tub, keeping the humidity where it needs to be. I don't want to bump the humidity up, because I'm sure 90% is not good for his resp system. He's been soaked many times. I don't know if he's going to shed soon- I couldn't tell last time that it was coming either. But, this has been like this since the last shed.
I think if you are keeping your humidity at that level you don't need to do the whole towel thing, that is just my opinion. It sounds like everything is ok but maybe a pic of what you are talking about if you are still concerned about it. It is my suspicion that everything is fine and you are over worrying but send us a pic so we can check it out.

Re: Hydration
Please take my questions not a negative but as a way to help u determine what the problem is.
Honestly I just want to help. I believe your loose skin- as u called it – it just your baby going in shed.

Re: Hydration
Babies should not have loose skin going into a shed. The only time they have loose skin is when they are dehydrated or they have a stuck shed. Babies should be smooth and robust. How often are you feeding? Since pinkies are mostly water, I feed baby chondros every 4-5 days until they graduate to hopper mice. From hatching, babies should be feeding on at least small adult mice by one year of age. Many keepers underfeed in my opinion.
As far as breeders go, if you don't mind me asking, who is the breeder? I've seen too many dealer claim to be breeders, but they are not. You can PM me if you like.

Re: Hydration
WW- didn't take offense...I was just frustrated because much of that had already been stated. I know you were trying to help, thank you.
I'm feeding every 5 days, and he's deficating typically 3 days after eating. I know that some people say the skin may bet loose before shedding, but this has been like this since I got him.
One thing I did change since posting this thread- someone said to spray them even if they seem to hate it. I used to spray straight up and let it fall down on him, but for the last few days I've been spraying him directly. I'm hoping to see a change soon.
I'll take a picture in a bit, but I doubt it'll be very clear. I'll post that shortly. As for the breeders name, the card unfortunately got thrown out by a roommate. He could have been lieing about being the breeder...I believed him that he was, as he seemed to know very well what he was talking about, but he also looks very young, so he could be full of it. He's got a table at the Lone Star Reptile Expo each time- I wish I could remember the name, but I took so many cards home, many of the names on the vendor list look familiar.
Anyway, I'll keep with it for a week, see if he sheds/gets better. I'll bump the thread if it doesnt.
