Re: Dirty jobs great show but wrong.
I remember reading in Errol Flynn's biography many years ago that he once did that for a living before he became famous.

Re: Dirty jobs great show but wrong.
Why is it gross? Clean skin is clean skin. Once your able to see past the innuendos you'll find there's nothing particulary gross about it. I am not going to comment one way or the other as towards cruelty to the animal. But, It's just flesh, if you were any other carnivore in the animal kingdom you'd be happy to be in that position, rather than "sheepishly" cowering at the connotations of mouth placement...

Thank you, I was going to say something along those lines when I posted if no one else had said it.
There is hardly anything gross about it. What society tells us is wrong though, makes it a disgusting process. I actually find it interesting and unique. From reading LadyOhh's link, I believe that the method could be a relatively humane procedure, considering they use a knife, as human teeth are not capable of that.
Theres not a whole lot of difference in a vet's office, except a sterile environment, which would not probably happen with a large animal vet anyway as most of their treatment is done in a barn/stable of some sort.
