    Megacolon is more likely to show up after weaning, but there are two causes for megacolon which can show up early or late. Severe cases show up before weaning, but most cases are after the rat has started to eat solids.

    Then there is late onset megacolon, which would be heart breaking to witness after you've grown so attached to an animal after a period of time.

    It's all a risk. Some blazed/high white animals don't carry it but the chances are much higher. On the flip side, some non-high white animals carry it.

    For high white marked animals, is it worth the risk?
