    Well I've spoken to 3 people now, 1 of whom has experienced this and gone on to have a healthy clutch... the general feeling seems to be that given the time since the prolapse, the muscles should have healed and she shouldn't have any problems!!

    I'm sure that I'll still be like a cat on a hot tin roof, but I'd like to give her a try - first signs of trouble though and she will be off to the vet and kept as a pet only for the rest of her days!!

    Make sure you run a fecal exam for parasites--sometimes parasite infestation can cause a prolapse.

    She was given fecal checks at the time of the prolapse and treated as a precaution but nothing showed up!

    I don't know how much stress can contribute to these things, but she'd been shipped from the US to the UK and then within a week or so of that, had another 10 hour drive to get to me during which she prolapsed!
