Loss of Pigmentation??

Is it anything like what happened to this persons spider?

They had a normal looking one and after a shed it came out gray. There is also a lot of speculation as to what it could be in that thread, perhaps its similar?

Yes, that's it--it could very well be the IMG. He'll know for sure if she starts to slowly get her color back and then turn darker and darker.
