Re: boosting humidity with moss?
Ok, i don't use something that looks great but it works wonders and lasts a while. I eat icecream alot and take the plastic tub, clean it out, poke holes in it, fill it 1/4 was with water and nearly fill it with moss. Works great for me. My BP tank is over my Dragon's cage so all the heat is recycled into belly heat focused on one side (the room is a constant 75). If i need to adjust humidity i just move the container closer to the cool or hot end. Also, when my snakes start to shed they will chill on the lid and just sit there absorbing as much water as possible. I don't like humidity hides because i can't get to the snake and most sick snakes like to hide in a humid spot.

you can use more or less and adjust to get humidity where you want it
some people put it in a conatiner with a hole in it for the snake to crawl into
but around the water bowl is good for me i got one female whos prone to scale rot so i dont like her laying on anything moist for very long
hope this helps
oh you can mist it if your in a hurry to it soaks up water like a sponge
I do the exact same thing. It works great.
Re: boosting humidity with moss?
where can I pick up bricks of moss? Should it be carried by local pet stores? Looking at petsmart.com it looks like they carry various kinds of moss, most of it in bags.. I can't tell whether or not the exo-terra forest moss is what I should be looking into or not.
