Could be getting too expensive to feed, not enough time for it, doesn't want it anymore, having a kid and doesn't want to risk anything, doesn't have the room for it, may live in an apartment and the landlord doesn't want it in there etc.

Me, I'd have to know a price first. if the price was good, sure. But that's me, I've had experience with large pythons before. Burms are not that hard to care for as people say they are, you just need money for food. Most people will stay away from them because of their size. I love them because of their size. I don't like the dwarf burms all that much. Fine for someone who wants a bum but not the size of one, but they're expensive. I'd rather drop $40 on one that'll be bigger.

Our burm was nearly identical...albino, 5-6 years old, a little under 10', good handle able attitude, healthy if a bit small for his age. We jumped at the chance of having a healthy animal. =)

The guy want's $200 for it and it's large tank, to cover somewhat what the snake food has cost him over the years, seems reasonable but I'm still wondering and waiting to pick up a better cage first.

i was facing that same problem so i bought a baby i wanted to make it grow cause of me i wanted to to the work i didnt want someone to do it then i come in and finish it off... hope this helps

If it's an actual TANK/Aquarium/Terrarium, that would be a turn off for me. The price including food is a bit greedy. And if he only spent some $200 feeding it throughout 5 years, I'd say there is an underfed snake.

ok so recently we adopted a 12ft female burm. albino. she is amazing and no regrets. she is so sweet ...like I said NO regrets :D.
I have had snakes from babies and I have had snakes from 16yrs. and I guess it just depends on what u want at the time . Have u had this large of a snake before?

It seems to me that you could get Burms for a lot cheaper. Just like Iguanas, people buy them when they're small then once they get bigger, drop them with no remorse. I bet someone would love for you to take one off their hands. But at the same rate, if the snake you're looking at is healthy I guess health would be a better value to think about.

No, this would be it. I've dealt with burms somewhat but never had one in my possession. My big boa is my largest one.

Ok, I got the largest vission cage I could find 72x36 and I'm going to check that snake out within the next two days.
Since you guys are experts I wanna ask you is there anything in particular with burms that I need to look for and in general what should I be ware of?
As far as the age of this guy is there a way to determine his age by the looks of the snake or any morphological characteristics?
