She isn`t hungry though, they are definitely defensive strikes as she isn`t coiling. One of the first times I picked her up (she was about 24 hours old) she hit me 8 times in succession and fast. I would have put her down but admittedly I was laughing too hard.

Maybe she is paying me back now?

AP: I`ll try the handling, but at this point she still strikes while in hand, and I worry about dropping her or her falling out of my hand as she really launches herself forward. Most of the snakes I have tamed out I tend to do it by not handling them. But I may have to suck it up and put on the heavy gloves and take her in hand.

And yeah, I love the song and the vid, when I first saw the vid I knew I would name a snake after the actor that plays Lydia :)
