I've never seen any chew marks on the tubs I keep.

My setups are real simple, water bottle, food dish, and I provide wooden chews that disappear real fast. Seems like if you provide something they like to chew on escape isn't on their minds. Apple tree twigs/branches get chewed up the fastest.
