    I would go for a thermostat not a rheostat or a dimmer switch you spent good money on a snake just buy a thermostat the one I bought was $119. Not a bad price to pay for the safety and security of your snake.

    Just get a thermostat. I was fine with the dimmer switch throughout summer, but now that fall's charging in and the weather is changing, I realized I needed to get one.

    eBay really is a good place to go, I picked up a pre-wired Johnson Controls ECT 1110000 or whatever they are for $60 plus shipping.

    Granted, it's been 10 days since it's been shipped and I've still yet to see it (USPS has it tracked as going from Michigan to me, to Ohio, to Chicago, now en route back to me...).
