    I just went through this.

    Even on the loweset setting, my Dimmer kept my 4" flexwatt at 100 degrees even!

    i have my dimmer on the highest setting and it gets to 82 degrees tops

    you know what i meant lol its confusing...lets put it this way: I have it set so that the dimmer is being used the least it can be and it still only gets to like 80 degrees

    Plug a table lamp into the dimmer, then move the slider up and down. When the light is the brightest mark that end high and when the light dims that side is low. Its a lot easier than doing it with the flexwatt.

    If the flex surface temp only gets to 80 degrees with that dimmer wide open, you have bad wiring to the flex. I have used those dimmers for years on all sizes of flex.
