I'm just going to throw this out there... for 3 snakes... 2 groups might be a lot and they can get over run pretty quick. I would recommend one group, 1.2.

You'd be getting 30-39 rats weaned every three weeks this way, and the males grow on to be fairly large (150+ grams), whereas the females tend to stay small if they haven't been bred. I think the females are comparable to a large mouse.

I have too many with 2 groups, and I have 3 snakes that always take ASF's. I have way too many right now, so I have been feeding these little guys off left and right, but I also have a lot more snakes than you.

I would recommend starting out with only one group of 1.2. Remember, you can always hold back another group after you get your feet wet and understand just how prolific these rats breed. I just don't want to see you overrun with a bunch of rats.

Oh, and I'm am the only one in the world that thinks ASF's smell terrible. At first it was okay with a couple of adults, it was a different smell, but then I had a ton more, and with their habits of using a corner to defecate in, it really concentrates the smell to just nauseating levels.

So yea, that's my story. :D
