It's not worth your hard earned money. You would think that a band with a miliion dollar budget, that has spent plenty of time fighting illegal downloading, would be capable of releasing a professionally made album. DM is a joke.

Wow did you actually buy the album? Or just scam the download like most with the crappy quality. I have Heard both. The leaked album was crappy. Go figure:weirdface But the actual cd is very well done.

Let me guess you really never been a Metallica fan. What is your fav. Lp?

But at least the snare drum doesn't sound like a plastic bottle the way it did on St.Anger

For 10 bucks at Target I bought the album and was pleasantly surprised when I started listening to it.

Duh, they spent all their money on fighting illegal downloading.

Unfortunately no, although I wish I was with how much they just got bought out for. ;) It's not so much that I need to get past it, it's just the fact that I still find the whole situation humorous. A rock band focused on creating the image of rebels, who were known for supporting the bootlegging of their shows, suddenly sueing some of the very people who may have supported them from the beginning. You gotta admit, legal or not, it was quite an about-face.

Also, as I said earlier, I will admit this album is far better than the last few cd's I've heard from them. I may not be much of a fan of them any more, but I honestly could not listen all the way through St. Anger -- and I'm usually pretty forgiving about giving most cd's a listen through a few times before I decide if I like it or not.

I don't download music, I buy it in a store, and whether or not I like Metallica has nothing to do with my comments on their production for DM.

You are wrong, the CD is terrible. There is a reason why the guitar hero version sounds so much better.

I noticed the sound quality issues more when listening on headphones at work than in my car. Its especially noticeable during the chummy low end riffs.

The guitar hero situation reminds me of the St.Anger CD. The actual CD sounded like crap but the bonus DVD you got of them playing the album in the studio sounded 10x's better.

all songs sound better on guitar hero, rockband or a dvd.they dont have to shrink the files so it stays more true to the original recording.
