The thing is you get ticks almost exclusively on CF ball pythons and what you really want if possible is CBB ball python.
Now it may not be a tick but if it is then , if it was me, I would take the snake with the discolouration back and get the cash back instead of trading it for an animal that has an external (and probably internal) parasite.
It just seems a good idea to start of with as healthy and well adjusted snake as possible.
If you can you could get a picture of the raised one big flat scale and post it up here for advice?

Re: What Is This???????
well im almost positive it isnt a tick... i checked it out again yesterday and i kinda massaged it out so i could look at it better andits just one scale on his whole body and its kinda thinner and the side closer to where its connected has a small hard thing on it and it isnt a mite either. should i just wait till his next shed and see if it goes away? iput neosporin on it since it wouldnt hurt and maybe if its from a bad shed or something it would help. i talked to the owner of the store and he came from a local breeder too so..

I would just keep the snake you have and treat it like I told you. You can always get a pastel or spider once you get your current snake sexed and produce your own bright/cool babies.
