I disagree. Even my tiniest of hatchlings don't get pinkies. All my hatchlings' 1st meals are rat fuzzies or hopper mice. After a couple of meals, they get either rat chubs or small adult mice for the next couple of months.

I'd start it on rat chubs if it has had a couple of meals before you bought it. If you are feeding mice, I would offer hoppers or small adults. My small bee only had 6 meals before I got him, and I fed him a small mouse the 1st week, and 2 small adult mice every 4 days since. Pinkies are almost always too small for BPs, unless you hatch out twins.

I fed him a small adult mouse and he swallowed it in record time. I think it was just the right size for him. I'll take pictures of him soon. I'm getting a camera within the next couple of weeks, the only thing holding me back is I don't know which camera to get. Maybe I'll see what my camera phone can do in the mean time. Then you can get an idea of how big he is.

I have five male rats as pets, so I figure I'll just get a couple of females and farm my own food so to speak.
