Day 53 - cut my eggs

The pictured baby could move himself around. I got advice from another breeder who has experiance with deformed babys. Both are being euthanized.
Temps were at 86-88F. I use a incubator with a Helix, and two of the temp/humidity gauges. I looked through all my records and online stuff, and I found one day that the house was overly hot. That would mean the snake room was probably overly hot, including the incubator.
The probes for the thermostat and for the sensors were always in the egg boxes.
Here's a pic of the last baby, it's a poor picture, but I was upset, and didn't bother to try to take a real good one. I did not pull him, he was halfway out, note the yolk is not fully absorbed either.

Thanks for the good thoughts guys. I'm just a huge softie when it comes to my critters. Even if they are "just snakes, it's not like it's a dog or a cat..." which I got told.
Sigh. Some people just don't understand a pet is a pet, no matter how much hair or lack of hair. UF declined to take either baby for study also.

I'm sorry you are going through this, Wolfy. Keep your head up, and don't hang up those breding shoes yet.

Dude, I am so sorry to hear of this happening to you! Everyone's "hang-it-up" threshold is a little different, but if it were me, I'd stick my nose to books & screens and make sure I knew as much as I could about incubation errors and what might cause such a calamity, so that next year (and there _would_ be a "next year"!) I'd be able to provide conditions close to ideal. I hope in time, your pain will subside, and your courage to face another season will increase.

~Bruce - who thinks your second little cinnamon, challenged as it was, had an amazing and very beautiful pattern, and was a kinda cute snakelet in its way.
