Yep, Jake nailed it. She may produce a selectively bred spiders with him, but it still traces back to the original and only imported spider line.

you can keep your own strain of selectively bred animals and try to market them as your own special project, even if they have origins in someone else's line. There might be an ethical standard of some kind (hypothetically, like 3 generations of breeding for a specific trait) before you start saying you have a nameable project, but if you're willing to put in the work for a certain quality of morph with uniqueness within the morph, i'd say you eventually get to own it. It might still be prudent to make mention of the origins of your founding snake when asked or advertising, however.

he's a beauty. Interesting how clean that line is down his ventral. Very very nice! Congrats on producing such a nice animal.

PS: Hope that the marking is reproducable. That contrast with a few different recessive traits would be stunning - thinking axanthic for one... wow.

Thanks :) I definately plan on keeping this entire clutch and working with it. :) I am not saying that I have a big new morph.. I like the "normal until proven otherwise" approach. But yeah.. I could definately imagine this type of shading/trait added into axanthics.. or maybe even genetic stripes.. who knows what could happen!
