Using PAM on snake

NEVER NEVER NEVER apply any permethrin based product directly on a snake,it's a pestacide that once absorbed thru the snakes skin can cause death or severe problems.that's why on the provent-a-mite instructions it says to spray the enclosure THEN let it dry before putting snake back in it's enclosure.

I don't think he meant to spray prevent-a-mite but that rid-bedding spray stuff on the snake.

I use Reptile Relief on snake and PAM on the enclosure.

Follow the directions on the products folks, they are there for a reason!

Permethrin is toxic and should not be used directly on reptiles. It is the active ingredient in Rid and Pam.
You need to use something with Pyrethrin in it, which is the synthetic version of permethrin. It is much safer. My vet gave me some Frontline Spray to wipe on the snake.

I was given a solution that is 20:1 Water to Lice Shampoo that has Pyrethrin in it. It has worked wonders for me and was recommended to me by someone who's been keeping/breeding snakes for 15+ years.

i PAM the enclosure, then while it's airing out i put the snake in a tub of water with a few drops of baby shampoo and make the snake put it's head under a few times.

Do you have to wash/rinse the enclosure after spraying PAM in there or do you just let it air out and put the snakes back in?

Let it air dry without snake or water bowl then put the snake back in. The PAM is not harmful to the snake after it dries but will kill newly hatched mites for up to a month, I think that's the time frame, it's on the can. All the directions for use should be right on the can, follow them.
