I think that your mother would be making a mistake to have your sister turn herself in unless the neighbor has called the police. And if she ran into the neighbor's house she probably isn't yet ready to learn to drive.

Its a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport. Not a nice car, but its my baby. When my brother gets home from Arizona (we are moving my cousin home) hopefully today, he's going to start looking for parts for me.

I agree with all this. Turning her in will only end up costing your mom money and time since your sister doesn't have a job and can't drive. It's not like they'd make her spend the night in jail to teach her a lesson. And if you smash into the car in front of you, unfortunately it is entirely your fault. Good luck getting your car fixed.

Now that we got to see the car in the light (I went over to see my cousin) my cousin showed me the back of the car. I hadn't even thought to look at the back because I figured she'd hit the house and that was it. Nope, apparently, she tried to back up and hit a tree, denting and scratching up the back of the jeep. She also smashed a brake light.

I know I'm being way too nice to her right now. I won't really let her talk to me or come near me though. I'm mad, but I'm not a violent person. So yea, a couple thousand dollars worth of damage. If I find my camera, or find some way to get the pictures off my phone, I'll post a few pictures. Its quite amazing what a 14 year old can do to a car. I'm sure it could have been worse, but this car was my baby. Still is. I won't let them convince me to get a new car. This one is getting fixed and I will drive it again. :P

yeah it is amazing the amount of damage a 14 year old girl can do to a car. when i was in highschool a 14 year girl stole her brothers car and ran it through a crowd of people by mistaking the gas for the brake. it hit my little group of friends and we had 4 broken ankles between 5 people ( i was the lucky one) and another one of my friend got crushed. he broke both hips and his spine from the hips down as well as both his femurs and an ankle. after 8 months in the hospital and years of physical therapy he was eventually able to walk again.

i guess what im saying is at least no one got hurt.

I agree also, I don't know if turning herself in is the best thing. Like stated above it will probably just end up costing your mom money. I would however keep track of any additional cost and make her pay you back when she is old enough to get a job. Even if it's only a little at a time.

Reminds me of that carfax commercial with the little old lady trying to back out of the garage. ;)

She said she's going to start doing yard work for the neighborhood in order to pay me back. Given, she probably owes me a good 2000+, but whatever.
