BP feeding issues+possibly constipated questions

thats what i do pretty much in all my enclosures.;)

i prefer to feed inside the enclosure but others prefer feeding in seperate tubs. although i dont believe in feeding in a seperate tub you may want to continue to do so if the snake was consistently eating for you when you were feeding it that way.

its up to you though. before feeding day comes still try out what was said whether you decide to feed within his enclosure or in a seperate tub.

Ill try inside the enclosure just so I dont have to move him or anything, I appreciate all the help though....Basically just feed him once a week, same day and if he doesnt take it wait one more week? Since it is f/t Im feeding, would you just do a puppet show and if he doesnt take then stop trying, or leave the rat in there for a few minutes?

try the "puppet show" and if he doesnt take you may want to leave the rat in overnight to see if he'll pick it up when hes ready. if the rat is still there the next morning, remove it and wait until the next week to try again. it may take a few weeks or if your lucky he may just eat the rat right off the floor while you're sleeping.

I would bump up the temps to 92-94F. Becky told me to do this as it was her experience that it improves appetite. She also recommended that I start feeding live mice in order to get that prey drive kicked in.

I followed both suggestions and my little hypo female hasn't missed a meal since :gj:

So I tried a f/t rat in a separate container (which he used to eat in) and he wouldn't take it but then I just put it in his enclosure and put him back and he turned around and ate it so I'm happy but would like to get on a routine.

That is excellent advice, higher temps increases their metabloic rate and live gets a much better feeding response since that's what they would eat naturally.:gj:
