Re: Best way to kill a live mouse?
Ah, I'm just a little bit of a worry wary as well so I tend to need many opinions before I go on doing something - So thank you for them all.
He's only 3 months old, and he's been a wonderful feeder with me, but the breeder who had him before said he had only two feeds and there was already a bite on his belly. :hmm: So I worried.

Re: Best way to kill a live mouse?
Feed him live. The size rat pup you'd be feeding your baby bp just barely have teeth and only a couple of weeks old! They are gums at that age, and really lack any jaw power for biting.
If it is a mouse, hold the mouse by the tail or scruff of the neck with some long hemostats or tongs, and let the bp strike the mouse.
Don't forget to prescent prescent prescent! Do it an hour before you feed, and when you do get ready, you should see your bp sticking his head out trying to get at that food!
I personally just throw the rat in the tub and shut. I check them about an hour later and most will be gone, or you'll find them playing in the bedding building tunnels or just cleaning themselves lol. :P
