And mom; a reduced (actually more spotless, as I tend to think of longer areas of pattern as Reduced, and hers are still alien-head shaped.) She was cbb by Alex Hue, 2003. She could be a Pastel sibling but I am not sure; he had advertised that his normals were morph siblings. There is no way that she is a Pastel! She did have a clutch of 4 eggs last year (1 pastel, 1 normal.) No connection IMO.

Well you're right she does look on the normal side. Did the odd ball make it out of the egg yet? Once it does post some pics! As for your normal female hold on to her and if the odd one turns out to be a male breed him back to her, bet you'll be very pleased with your results.

This is very interesting. Could this be the trick of light color turning darker in a few weeks. Anyway you have a nice clutch, and it will be a great dinker project.

I'm wondering if the mom is genetic reduced could it be allowing the higher white sides most spiders have to travel further up on the offspring? :weirdface

WAY OFF BASE HERE! BUT...what if it could be possible for her to retain sperm from the pastel breeding last year and the pastel and spider sperm both fertilized the same egg this year resulting in a bee????? I know everyone says that is not possible, BUT WHAT IF?? If this turns out to be a bumblebee something has to have happened!! Mom is definately not pastel.

I dont think thats possible considering the fact that to fertilize an egg and create "life" you need 2 sets of genes to come together to form one.

A third wouldnt fit into the equation.

The little booger hasn't come out yet :) I can still see some yolk attached inside so now it is just a waiting game. No color changes overnight.. but I am still being realistic about it and if it does darken up, that is fine too.. I will post pics once it comes out of that egg :)
The other three snakes in the clutch look typical for what I have experienced. 2 normals that look, well, normal, and one Spider with similar brown tones to the ones I hatched out earlier.

But it doesn't look like a hatchling bee?:confused:

There can be multi sire clutches, there are posts of people with three different morphs coming out of one clutch... It isnt 3 genes mixing together in one egg, its a different set of genes to different eggs.
