Re: Normal Females - Where do they stand?
Within a year I will have a pretty sizeable loan and I will be purchasing 3 freedom breeder racks, and the first snake purchase I will make is 15-20 adult normal females... Then Im probably going to fly to BHB or somthing and hand select the morphs I want...
Normals come in handy if you need to make hets, lets say I have a cinnamon super, but I need some more cinnamons, well a normal female is needed there...
Re: Normal Females - Where do they stand?
For pure lines, clean colors, and interesting new projects, Normals will always have a place.
I have two normal girls and adore them both. One is my only breeding size girl (unless my Het Albino can gain 400g in the next 4 months) and I fully intend to put her with my Het Albino male to see if he is stud material. :D That, and I just really love her markings and think others would as well if she passes them on.
My other normal girl is my picky, underweight BP but I'd never get rid of her. With every shed her colors and enhancements keep changing. :) I swear she's part chameleon! She just shed last night and currently has speckles in every pattern spot and the white from her VERY clean belly is creeping up her sides. She may turn into a dinker...IF she'll start gaining some better weight. :)
With my restrictions on space and money, I wouldn't get any more normals... but I certainly wouldn't give up these two ladies.

I'm not sure what I'm looking for quite yet. Something that catches me, and likely a reduced pattern light girl. If not that, a busy pattern with dots evenly all down the dorsal.
I just find it difficult since I do most of my snake buying online, and pictures don't always tell all. It's also harder to tell with hatchlings then adults but I've been keeping my eye out for one.
Re: Normal Females - Where do they stand?
From a breeding standpoint, I can understand having more morphs. But for me, I love my normal girls and the variation among them. No two look alike and I really am looking forward to seeing which ones pass along different pattern/color traits. Dinkers are the absolute best in my book.
