There you go..... glad I could help :)
See how this works for you. I know you keep your house humid but you need to always keep track of temps/humidity for these snakes. You need to watch them to a point.... people take temps/hum a tad too seriously IMO (and in my friends professional experience) but there ARE limits. Walmart.com will have one you can order for $10 shipped or so.....
Good luck... let us know.

Wait, you cut a hole in the plexi glass? Why? Doesn't that devoid the purpose of dividing the cage in two?
You only want him on ONE side of the tank at all times.
If your not going to breed, theres not really a reason to sex, but you could try popping and it's not really harmful to the snake if you look up how to do it correctly.
What type of hides are you using? Do you have a thermostat controlling your heat pad? These things may be very important.
Also, I've been talking a lot about hides lately. Don't use those half-log hides.. they are often too big and not secure. Make sure the hides are small enough to touch him on all sides, very little to no empty space in there! You could easily make your own hides out of bowls, ceramic flower pots and water trays all work well.
Re: New to the Ball Python World
I suggested two seperate enclosures with the plexi.... but I wouldn't think a small hole (preferably) elevated would hurt. It's basically two enclosures for the same snake. People think way too much into snake behavior... it's pretty damn simple. You should be fine. Wait a week or so without bothering it and let everyone know.

Yes I'm using a thermostat heating pad. You might laugh at 2 of the 3 hides it's so cheap and easy...One hide is a fake rock thing with holes in it. 2 are Blue plastic bowls like you'd use at a family picknick that are disposible I cut it and for the sharp edges I took a lighter and burnt it and folded it over. I also cleaned them very well.

Does this mean that you have a heating pad attached to a thermostat? You really need to control your temps and know what they are. Several have asked what your temps are and you haven't answered (unless I missed it). Very important. You need to know.
