I've seen people breed them at 350 to 400 grams I normally wait till they are about 500 to 600 grams and eating well ALSO if they do not seem like they want to mate throw another male in. they will wrestle a bit and get him riled up. that normally does the trick

500 grams, but I prefer it if they're 800. Breeding is stressful, and I want them to have plenty of reserves to get them through the season.

I got a 550g male to produce my 2nd year breeding, but only to one female & I pulled him when he dropped 40g. 800g or more is golden & you can pair 1-3 girls pretty easily- just monitor the weight.

mine was about 8 months and 600 grams, since he started breeding hes lost his shyness, now hes quite an social snake outside the cage and hes way more of an agressive eater, saturday im trying frozen for the first time with him, normally he hides and comes out and stalks the rat, but the last 3 feedings... right out of my hand.

he got laid and now hes a new man, best thing that happened to him. hes up to about 800 grams now also.

Also putting a mature males shed in a spray bottle w/ water spraying down the desired female and putting in the male your trying to breed for the first time will get him going "I know sounds homo" but works very very well for me....
    Doesnt hurt to try :)

PS 650g gets some pretty sterile sperm but count on some slugs being in there if the female is in her first breeding season also...

Just like two virgins "Did you get it right the first time" haha have fun guys/ girls best of luck on this upcoming Breeding season...
