Re: Broken Toe
I always heard that if you had a broken big toe, not just a crack in the bone but a clean break, that you would be unable to walk.

Re: Broken Toe
well its definitely not broken. after 2 nights of ice n heat over and over again, the swelling went down and the bruising is going down a bit. guessing i just stubbed it pretty bad, it hurt like it was broke though, maybe a small fracture?

Re: Broken Toe
I've broken many toes over the years. The first time they put a cast on all the way up to my freakin' knee! Don't know why, but they did! I've also had them taped and when I broke my three center toes, they did NOTHING! My toes were bruised for weeks on end and walking was nearly impossible. I don't envy you, that's for sure!
I can relate to the no insurance bit...I'm in the same boat. I'm ready to put myself out of my mysery because my back hurts so bad right now! (I'm about to post for solutions)

Re: Broken Toe
When I broke one of my toes, my mom told me that the doctor wouldn't really do anything and I should just tape it. (toe next to my pinky toe).
Mine seemed to be a fairly simple break though. A horse stepped on my foot while I had tennis shoes on, leaned on it and I was unable to get the horse off my foot in time. The toe works fine now, but I will be in a lot of pain if you tried to crack the "knuckle" on that toe.

Re: Broken Toe
I have broken 3 of my toes... & 1 finger. Nothing they can do about it. You can make a splint for it, if you want. I never did.
You just let it be & heal on it's own. you can put a cotton ball between the big toe & the other, so it won't rub on it.
The first time I broke my toe, I had to work 9 hours standing. OUCH my toe was so purple, blue & black. I was in pain, but I can stand lots of pain anyways.
Hope your tow feels better!!!
